Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use NDIS funding to pay for a course?
Yes, if your plan is self or plan managed, you should be able to claim the money back from your plan or plan manager with the invoice that will be sent to you after payment. Please speak to your plan manager or support coordinator for approval, if required.
Can Two Way Street claim from my agency-managed NDIS funding?
No, we are unable to claim payment from your NDIS funding. If your plan is agency managed, please speak to your support coordinator, LAC or NDIS planner for guidance.
Will the course/webinar count towards my professional development hours?
You will receive a certificate on completion of the course or webinar that can be used to meet your professional development requirements.
Our Expert Instructors
Janelle Sampson is a Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist with over 30 years experience with a focus on Augmentative and Alternative Communication. Janelle has worked extensively with families, in schools and with organisations to support children and adults with complex communication needs.
In 2011, she founded Two Way Street providing face to face services, workshops, online programs, webinars, and partnerships with Scope Victoria to introduce Communication Access throughout South Australia.
Janelle is the author of the ROCC (Roadmap of Communicative Competence) Assessment Tool. She provides regular consultations and workshops around Australia for ROCC, PODD and other areas related to supporting people with communication challenges and is a Certified PODD Presenter.
Amelia Edwards is a Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist, with almost 10 years of experience working with individuals with complex communication needs. She provides individual and group services, consultation to clinicians, workshops and training to individuals, schools and organisations.
Amelia has completed the 2 Day Introductory and 5 Day Advanced PODD workshops. In 2015, Amelia completed a PhD, which explored the experiences of parents of children with autism spectrum disorder in selecting interventions for their children.
Amelia has a particular interest in supporting the inclusion of students who use AAC within inclusive schooling environments. She is currently completing a Masters of Inclusive Education.
Kate Munro is a Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist with 9 years of experience and has worked in the field of AAC since graduating. She provides individual and group therapy services, consultation to clinicians, workshops and training to individuals, schools and organisations.
She also has a special interest in hospital inpatient communication for people who use AAC after completing her honours thesis on the topic.
Kate loves working directly with clients and delivering workshops. She is particularly interested in assisting clients to access social media, enabling mental health communication, and providing clinical education for student speech pathologists.
Erin is a Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist, completing her Bachelor of Speech Pathology at Flinders University in 2017. Erin has a strong interest in supporting those with complex communication needs through AAC.
Erin has completed the 2 Day Introductory PODD, Alternative Access and Speech Generating Devices workshops. She is also trained to present Easy English workshops .
Erin is a member of Two Way Street’s Communication Access team providing consultancy, training and resources to businesses and services in South Australia, to become accessible for individuals with communication challenges.
